Blue Square Alliance finds increasing apathy towards antisemitism

Hey Watchmen, This headline doesn't surprise me one bit, but it should still grieve you. Apathy is actually worse than hostility in some ways, because at least with open hostility you know where people stand. Apathy means good people just stop paying attention, stop caring, let it slide off their shoulders like it's not their problem. I've said this before and I'll say it again: we can't expect the average person, believer or not, to carry the same zeal for the Jewish people that those of us who love Torah and love Israel carry. But when apathy starts creeping into the very people who should know better, that's a signal, my friends. That's not neutral ground. Scripture doesn't leave room for neutral on this issue. Look at Esther 4:14 — Mordecai tells Esther that if she keeps silent at such a time as this, deliverance will rise from another place, but she and her father's house will perish. That's the danger of apathy right there in black and white. Silence isn't safety. Indifference isn't innocence. Every empire, every nation that's grown apathetic or worse toward the Jewish people has found itself on the wrong side of history — I've pointed this out about Spain, England, France — nations that expelled and mistreated the Jewish people and are now shadows of what they once were. Apathy today is the seedbed for something far uglier tomorrow, and we've watched that pattern play out in this country too, generation after generation. So don't get comfortable, and don't let the people around you get comfortable either. When a study finds rising apathy, that's your cue to be louder, not quieter — to keep teaching your kids, your church, your neighbors why this matters. Elohim has never been apathetic toward His covenant people, and neither should we be. Watch the hearts around you growing cold, and stay ready to be the ones who don't.
