Jews in the U.S. Report Rising Insecurity After October 7

Hey Watchmen, This headline doesn't surprise me one bit, but it should grieve every one of us who calls on the name of Yeshua. Jewish brothers and sisters here in America — the descendants of Avraham, the keepers of the covenant, the very people through whom our Messiah came — are telling us plainly that they feel less safe walking to shul, sending their kids to school, wearing a Star of David in public. My friends, when Genesis 12:3 says Elohim will bless those who bless Avraham's seed and curse those who curse them, that's not poetry — that's a covenant promise still active today. A rising tide of antisemitism on American soil, three thousand miles from Gaza, is not a coincidence. It's a signal. Scripture never told us antisemitism would fade as the age wound down — it told us the opposite. Zechariah 12 says Jerusalem will become "a burdensome stone for all peoples" — and friends, that stone doesn't just sit in the Middle East, it ripples into every nation that has to reckon with how it treats the Jewish people. October 7th cracked something open worldwide, and what's spilling out is old hatred wearing new clothes — dressed up as "anti-Zionism," parading through college campuses and city streets. But we've read the end of the book. Romans 11 tells us Israel's calling is irrevocable, and Matthew 24 warns us that as the birth pains intensify, nations will turn against God's covenant people with increasing hostility. This is one of those pains. So what do we do with this, Watchmen? We don't wring our hands — we stand up. We speak for our Jewish neighbors when they're maligned, we refuse to let "never again" become a slogan we only mean in hindsight, and we pray Psalm 122's prayer for the peace of Jerusalem with fresh urgency — because her peace and the world's peace are tied together. The hour is later than it looks. Keep your lamps trimmed, keep your love for Israel and the Jewish people unashamed, and keep watching — because the One who made the promise to Avraham is the same One who's coming back for us all.
