US, Iran exchange blows in rekindled Middle East war

Hey Watchmen, I woke up to the news of us and Iran trading blows again, and my heart is heavy but my head is not spinning — my friends, we've seen this movie before. I've said it on this platform before about Iran: this is Medo-Persian (Iran) pride playing out in real time, that same ancient posture of a proud eastern power positioning itself against the people and the land of Israel. Torah tells us Elohim has a long memory for how nations treat His covenant people, and Iran's leadership has spent decades broadcasting exactly what its intentions are toward Jerusalem. When a nation keeps declaring its hostility out loud, believe it the first time. Now here's where I get real with you — I'm no cheerleader for endless American entanglement in that region. I've told you before how embarrassed I am at some of what our own government has done over there these last two decades, and I'm not going to pretend this strike is some tidy, righteous chess move by Washington. But my friends, don't confuse my skepticism of American motives with doubt about the bigger picture. Nations posture, nations lie about who "won," Iran's and America's regime will get on state television and claim victory no matter what actually happened on the ground — that's their playbook every single time. Our job isn't to referee the press releases. Our job is to watch what Elohim is doing underneath the noise. Proverbs reminds us that "the horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory belongs to the LORD" (Proverbs 21:31) — wait, my friends, we've leaned on that one already. Let me point you instead to Psalm 20:7, which says just as plainly: some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the LORD our Elohim. Iran trusts its missiles. Israel and her allies trust their arsenals. But it is the name of YHVH that stands when the smoke clears. So watch the skies over the Middle East, watch the rhetoric, and watch your own heart — don't let fear numb you or excitement distract you.
